Overland Park, Kan. – Sprint will
expand its tablet portfolio on June 24 by offering the Wi-Fi-only 16GB version
of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 at $499.
The direct shipment to end users will
be through its website, telesales phone, business-sales channels, and company
stores.
In the Sprint stores, the tablet will be in
inventory beginning July 24.

Through its direct channels, Sprint
already offers the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab with Wi-Fi and 3G, the Wi-Fi
BlackBerry Playbook, and Motorola’s Wi-F-enabled Xoom, and the carrier
previously announced June 24th availability of its first 4G-equipped tablet,

The 10.1 features 10.1-inch HD touchscreen
display with WXGA 1,280 by 800 resolution, video chat, Android 3.1 OS and 720p
video capture. For 3G/4G service, the tablet can be paired with the carrier’s
Overdrive Pro 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot by Sierra Wireless or MiFi.
