Spiderman Coming To Blu-ray

Culver City, Calif. – “Spider-Man 3” will swoop into retail stores in multiple DVD and Blu-ray Disc versions starting Oct. 30, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment said Friday.

Versions available for collectors will include a single-disc release, a two-disc Special Edition release, PSP, and a three-pack DVD release which will include “Spider-Man” and “Spider-Man 2” on DVD with collectible O-Ring packaging.

Also available will be the Spider-Man High Definition Trilogy, a three-pack release of all three films on Blu-ray Disc, allowing fans an exclusive opportunity to collect all three movies in high-def.

A stand-alone two-disc Blu-ray Disc set of “Spider-Man 3” will also be available. The two-disc sets in both Blu-ray and DVD formats will present more than six hours of bonus materials, including three featurettes spotlighting the cinematic creation of the comic book hero’s greatest nemeses.

The single disc DVD version will carry a $28.97 suggested retail price; the two-disc DVD Special Edition will carry a $36.95 suggested retail, the standard-definition DVD three-pack will carry a $38.96 suggested retail; the PSP version will carry a $28,97 suggested retail; the two-disc HD Blu-ray Disc set will carry a $49.95 suggested retail and the Blu-ray Disc three-pack Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 will carry a $98.95 suggested retail.

The film grossed over $888 million at box offices worldwide, setting numerous records, including the biggest three-day total in box-office history ($151 million), biggest single day gross in box-office history ($59.8 million), and the No.1 all-time worldwide opening ($231 million).
