SOYO Intros Dual PSTN/VoIP Adapter

Ontario, Calif. — VoIP service and equipment vendor SOYO announced a new VoIP phone adapter that addresses E911 by sending emergency calls over a landline.

The new adapter, which works with SOYO’s own VoIP service or other third party services on the SIP platform, connects to both a broadband modem and to a home’s RJ11 jack. Calls can be placed over either the Internet or, particularly in the case of emergency calls, over the PSTN line provided the user has landline service.

The Phone Adapter will retail for a suggested $75.

The unit is being market to consumers, through SOYO’s distribution channel and to cable providers.

It has one LAN Ethernet port, one FXS port and one PSTN pass through port.
