Dallas - SonyEricsson's
first Android-based smartphone for the U.S. market will be available from
carrier AT&T starting Aug. 15 at AT&T retail stores, authorized
retailers and www.wireless.att.com.

SonyEricsson's Android-based Experia X10 is the company's first full-touchscreen phone, first phone with the company's UX (user experience) platform, and first with Timescape and Mediascape features.

The full-touchscreen Xperia X10, which is
SonyEricsson's first smartphone for AT&T, is priced at $149 with two-year
service agreement and smartphone data plan.

The device features 4-inch 480 by 854-pixel
(WVGA) scratch-resistant touchscreen, Android 1.6 OS, 1GHz Snapdragon processor
from Qualcomm, assisted GPS, embedded memory up to 1GB, 2GB in-box memory card,
support for 32GB memory cards, full Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync client, and
8.1-megapixel camera. Camera features include smile detection, face
recognition, autofocus, LED flash, 16x digital zoom, geo-tagging, image and
video stabilizer, and photo and video uploading to the Web.

The X10 is
SonyEricsson's first full-touchscreen phone, which lacks a hard dialing keypad
or hard QWERTY keyboard. It also incorporates two features not available on
previous SonyEricsson devices in the U.S. One, called Timescape, consolidates
all types of messages in chronological order, including SMS and email messages
and Facebook and Twitter updates. Timescape also lets users view all
communications from a single person in a single place.

The other
feature, called Mediascape, consolidates access to phone-stored content with similar
online content, whether music, photos or video, including online Facebook videos
and online photos on the Picasa photo-sharing site. Users listening to a song
stored on the handset can also press a button to access related songs, albums
and video content pulled from phone memory or from online sources such as
YouTube. The phone will also display Google search results about the artist.

The device
will be the company's first phone worldwide to incorporate the company's UX
(user experience) platform, which runs on top of Android and will be available
to run on future SonyEricsson phones based on other OSs, the company said. The
user interface is promoted as combining entertainment features, applications,
social-media integration and a rich graphical user interface.

Music features
include MP3/AAC music playback and TrackID.

In other
announcements, AT&T said it plans for two new quick-messaging phones, the
Samsung Eternity II and Samsung Flight II, both featuring 3G HSDPA operation in
AT&T's network and in overseas 2.1GHz networks.

The
Eternity II features a full 3-inch touchscreen, FLO TV-based AT&T Mobile
TV, full HTML browser and 2-megapixel camera/camcorder. The Flight II features
full touchscreen with horizontal, slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The Flight
II is already available exclusively at RadioShack retail stores. The Eternity
II will be available on Aug. 15 at AT&T retail stores and at www.att.com/wireless.
Pricing on both models was unavailable.

The
Eternity II features three scrolling home screens, drag-and-drop widgets, and
AT&T Social Net service, which consolidates popular social-networking sites
like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace into one application for quick access.
PicDial is a new feature that, during each call, lets users see full-screen
Facebook and MySpace profile pictures and status messages of the person at the
other end of a conversation if that person is stored in the phone's contacts.

Eternity II also downloads apps from
AT&T's AppCenter, receives email, and offers live video sharing during a
phone conversation with another video-sharing phone. It also comes with
subscription-based AT&T Navigator GPS service, Bluetooth v2.1+ EDR and expandable
memory up to 32GB.

The Flight
II features a touchscreen and many of the same features, excluding AT&T
Mobile TV, but adds horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard, one-finger zoom for
web browsing and expandable memory up to 16GB.
