Sony Unveils 9 Cyber-shots For Spring

SAN DIEGO –

Sony unveiled nine additions to
its 2012 spring Cyber-shot digital camera line,
highlighted by a fully loaded 30x optical zoom
model.

Most of the new offerings include Sony’s Exmor
R CMOS sensor technology affording 1080i
or 1080p HD video capture, strong low-light
performance, 10 fps burst shooting, fast AF with
background defocusing capability, 3D capture
and viewing, and Sweep Panorama still shooting.

At the top of the class is the DSC-HX200V
(shipping in March at a $479 suggested retail)
featuring a 30x optical (27mm) wide-angle ultrazoom
lens, an 18-megapixel Exmor R CMOS
sensor, high-speed autofocus (AF) system, GPS,
1080p HD video capture with dual recording at
the 13.5-megapixel level, three-way optical image
stabilization system, a 3-inch tilting LCD screen and
3D Sweep panorama.

The HX30V (May, $419) offers an 18-megapixel Exmor
R CMOS sensor, high-speed AF system, 20x optical
(25mm) wide angle zoom lens, 1080p HD video capture
with dual recording at the 13.5MP level, 3-way optical
image stabilization, 3-inch, 921,000-dot LCD, GPS, 3D
Sweep Panorama and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.

The HX20V (May, $399) offers an 18-megapixel Exmor
R CMOS sensor, 20x optical (25mm) wide-angle zoom
lens, high-speed AF, GPS, 1080p HD video capture with dual recording at the 13.5-megapixel
level, 3-inch 921,000-dot LCD,
three-way optical image stabilization,
but omits the Wi-Fi found in the HX30V.

The HX10V (March, $329) features
an 18-megapixel Exmor R CMOS
sensor, 16x optical (24mm) wide-angle
zoom lens, high-speed AF, GPS,
1080/60i HD video capture with dual
recording at the 13.5-megapixel level,
three-way active optical image stabilization
system, 3-inch 921,000-dot
LCD and 3D Sweep Panorama.

The H90 (March, $249) features a
16-megapixel CCD sensor, 16x optical
(24mm) wide-angle lens, 720p HD video
capture, active optical image stabilization
system and a 3-inch VGA LCD.

The TX20 (May, $329) is a waterproof
camera featuring a 16-megapixel Exmor
R CMOS sensor, a 4x optical/8x digital
(25mm) wide-angle zoom, a 3-inch touchpanel
LCD, 1080/60i HD video capture
with dual recording at the 13.5-megapixel
level, active image stabilization and 3D
Sweep Panorama capability.

The TX66 (March, $349) features an
18-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor,
12.2mm ultra-slim body design, a 3.3-
inch touchpanel OLED display, a highspeed
AF system, a 5x optical/10x digital
(26mm) wide-angle zoom lens, 1080/60i
HD video capture with dual capture at
the 13.5-megapixel level, active optical
image stabilization system, MicroSD slot
and 3D Sweep Panorama capability.

The WX150 (May, $249) features
an 18-megapixel Exmor R CMOS
sensor, slim design, 10x (25mm)/20x
digital wide-angle optical zoom, highspeed
AF, 3-inch VGA LCD screen, 3D
Sweep Panorama and dual recording at
13.5-megapixel level.

The WX690 (May, $179) features
16-megapixel CCD sensor, a slim design,
720p HD video capture, 10x (25mm) wideangle
optical zoom and a 3-inch LCD.
