London – Personnel changes continued at Sony Mobile
Communications, where Dennis van Schie has been named corporate VP, head of
sales and marketing worldwide.
He reports to president/CEO Kunimasa Suzuki, who replaced
Bert Nordberg, effective today. Nordberg became chairman of the board.
Van Schie is a 10-year Sony Mobile veteran, having served
most recently as corporate VP, head of the product business unit. There, he was
responsible for product planning, development and management of the Xperia
smartphone line. He will be based in London.
“Dennis has been
instrumental in defining and developing Sony’s smartphone offering and the
transition from feature phones to the Xperia smartphone portfolio,” said
Suzuki.
