10/17/2011 04:00:53 PM Eastern

San Diego - Sony
plans to add to its marine-audio selection with products that include the
company's first marine head unit with port to connect to the new SirusXM
universal tuner

$140-suggested CDX-M20 CD receiver, which ships in January, connects to the universal
hide-away SXV100 satellite-radio tuner, which is designed to reduce the cost of
adding a hideaway satellite-radio tuner to a satellite-ready head unit. The $69
SXV100 connects to any brand of head unit with universal port, including
automotive head units from Sony, Alpine, and Dual.

The SXV100 does
not receive the expanded channel lineup that SiriusXM announced
as part of the first phase of its SiriusXM 2.0 service rollout.

The head unit
features MP3/WMA-CD playback, built-in equalizer, 4x52-watt amplifier,
single-line LCD display, front auxiliary input and UV-resistant front-panel
coating. A conformal circuit board coating protects the head unit from salt
spray, moisture, fungus and dust.

Two other new
marine products are speaker pairs that ship in December at a suggested $70 and

Both the $70 XS-MP1611
and $130 XS-MP1621 speakers are UV-coated and saltwater-resistant. The
XS-MP1611 is a dual-cone speaker with removable grille and 65-watt CEA2031 RMS
power handling. Maximum power handling is 140 watts. The XS-MP1621 is a two-way
speaker featuring 70-watt CEA2031 RMS power handling and 160-watt maximum power
