Sony Launches Its First 4G LTE Smartphone

Las Vegas – Sony launched its
first 4G LTE smartphone, the Xperia ion, which will be available exclusively
for use on the AT&T network in the second quarter.

 The device features Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
OS, large 4.6-inch HD display (1280×720 pixels) incorporating Sony Mobile
Bravia engine, and 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor R technology to go
from standby to first shot in less than two seconds. It also features 1080p
video capture through the rear camera, 720p video capture through the font
video-chat camera,  1.5GHz dual-core
processor, 16GB embedded memory, and HD video sharing via DLNA and HDMI output.

 The device is also PlayStation-certified to
purchase and download PlayStation games over the air, and It accesses Sony’s Music
Unlimited and Video Unlimited streaming services. The former features more than
12 million songs, and the latter features movies and TV shows from all major
studios, the company said.
