Montreal – Sonomax
Technologies announced it has begun shipping the latest iteration of its Eers
custom-fit earphones.
The PCS-150 ($199) and
PCS-250 ($299) come with the company’s Sonofit Fitting System that lets
consumers mold the earphones so that they fit inside their individual ear
shape.
The PCS-150, which has a
single driver, is meant for athletes, while the PCS-250 has dual drivers and is geared toward audiophiles.
Both come with an integrated in-line microphone for use with smartphones.
In a recent interview with TWICE, Sonomax
president and CEO Nick Laperle, said the company was focusing more on style
with its most recent products as a response to the desires of consumers.
“Our product for the first generation was black. And now it’s
glossy and there’s an in-line microphone, and the wire is orange and there’s
branding on the faceplate,” he said. “You won’t be able to put a black and gray
earphone on the market — the consumer is going to want style.”
“But they have to sound great and they have to be super
comfortable,” he added.
