Sonic Updates Flagship DVD Software

Marin County, Calif. — Software vendor Sonic Solutions announced the latest version of its flagship DVD/CD creation software, MyDVD Studio Deluxe 6.

The new software program lets users create DVDs with personal photos and videos, burn music CDs, play DVD and Video CDs on PCs and create custom disc labels. It also features integrated video editing, Dolby Digital audio encoding, MP3 ripping, automated backup and archiving capabilities.

New features on version 6 include free-form button placement, encoding for up to four hours of video on a single-layer DVD, anamorphic widescreen support, enhanced audio control and a new interface.

The software features a Fit-to-DVD quality setting that automatically optimizes DVD video quality depending on the amount content users want to burn. There are also manual quality settings to choose from.

According to Sonic, Studio Deluxe 6 is the first consumer software suite to offer true anamorphic widescreen support for 16:9 video from files and DV camcorders. The software also supports Double-Layer DVD+R drives and media.

MyDVD Studio Deluxe 6 includes MyDVD 6 Deluxe, RecordNow technologies, Sonic CinePlayer and built-in labeling for an estimated street price of $99.99.
