Hauppauge, N.Y. — Solo will begin shipping the first two models in a line of rolling notebook computer cases with a new shock-absorbing technology.
The company’s Shock Stop technology is a patented spring technology that absorbs shock while bags are being wheeled, to ensure a smoother ride.
The Shock Stop technology features small, red, heat-tempered springs within a composite housing to absorb any impact. Plastic guides within the housing ensure spring movement, and the spring resistance is designed for optimal cushioning, the company said
Solo said the technology was perfected through a study of spring resistance on a full range of bag loads and surface conditions.
Made of black ballistic poly with a water-resistant lining, both models feature the Shock Stop wheels along with a telescoping and locking handle system for easy rolling.
The Shock Stop Laptop Porfolio (SSA901) includes an airport security check pocket for easy access to boarding passes and tickets, a dedicated key hook, and stretchy “Digital Asset” pockets for MP3 players and other personal electronics. The stretchy elasticized notebook section secures and protects computers up to 15.4 inches. A zip-down file organizer section safely stores and organizes personal accessories. There is a center back curb guard for protection, and the top handle is padded. Suggested retail is $120.
The SSA902 Shock Stop Rolling Laptop Case features an easy access magnetic-close front pocket, a key hook, Digital Asset pockets and also holds a 15.4-inch notebook. A file organizer protects files and papers and an additional rear compartment offers an extra file compartment and an overnighter section with an elastic closure for a change of clothes neat.
A rear hideaway telescoping handle and padded carry handle are included. Suggested retail is $140.
