Luxemburg — The eBay-owned VoIP firm Skype released an updated version of it software for Mac users this week.

The software release (version 2.6) marks the first time Skype has debuted a new feature for Mac users before making it available to PC users. The feature, call transfer, lets users transfer an ongoing Skype call to another Skype user on their contact list.

The release also introduces several calling features that were previously available to Windows users including the ability to join public chat rooms, a chat typing indicator, the Skype Prime pay-for-advice service, automatic software updates and DTMF tones for automatic answering services.
