SINOCES To Renew CEA Sponsorship

Qingdao, China – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) will continue
its co-sponsorship of the China International Consumer Electronics Show
(SINOCES) for at least another five years.

The municipal government of Qingdao, which owns and organizes the China
International Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES), plans to renew its agreement
with CEA for five years, Qingdao vice mayor Zhang Wei announced Wednesday
during a dinner on the eve of the July 7-10 event. CEA senior VP Karen Chupka
said both parties intend to go forward for another five years, though they
haven’t yet signed an agreement.

The agreement would include the right to use the CES name, Chupka said.

The municipal government organizes the show, which is promoted within
China by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and
Electronics Products. CEA promotes the show outside China, licenses the CES
name to the event, and usually plays a role in designing SINOCES conference
programs, Chupka said.

 Other show sponsors include
multiple China government ministries.
