Simons Named Head Of Toshiba Info Systems

Irvine, Calif. — Mark Simons has been named president/CEO of Toshiba America Information Systems (TAIS).

Simons succeeds Masa Fukakushi, who was named chairman/CEO of Toshiba America. Jeff Barney will take over Simons’ former position as VP/GM for TAIS’ digital products division.

According to a release, Simons will be responsible for his TAIS groups’ business, which includes the digital products division, imaging systems division, storage device division and the telecommunication systems division.

Barney’s new title leaves him in charge of the company’s laptop computer business in the United States.

Simons has been with TAIS for more than 15 years. In addition to his recent VP and general manager position, at one point he also served as sales VP for the digital products division.

Barney has been with TAIS more than 19 years, since his graduation from California State University, Fullerton.
