SIM2 Ships HT3000 HOST Projector

Miramar, Fla. — SIM2 said it is now shipping its Grand Cinema HT3000 HOST system 1080p DLP projector.

The compact two-piece projector, which carries a $21,595 suggested retail with a T1 lense and $22,595 with a T2 lens, features an outboard video input processor that connects to the projector section via SIM2’s proprietary, three-line HD Optical Signal Transfer (H.O.S.T.) system, which allows an optical cable run of up to 750 feet.

The HOST’s outboard 10-bit video processor includes six HDMI 1.3 inputs as well as component, composite, RGB and S-Video inputs. The projector’s modular design enables all of the sources to be located in a rack or stored out of sight.

The projector portion measures 17 inches square and weighs 24 pounds, and features a cabinet designed by Giorgio Revoldini. It employs Texas Instruments’ 0.95-inch 1080p DLP DMD chip, and Alphapath light engine with all-glass optics. Other features include integrated lens shift and digital keystone adjustment, wide-ranging picture size possibilities (50 inches to 300 inches), and a choice of lenses enabling a broad throw range.

The SIM2 system’s HOST processor is a separate, compact component measuring 14 inches by 4 inches by 12 inches and was designed for flexible placement. It incorporates TI’s full BrilliantColor circuitry, to deliver a broader color range and Unishape lamp technology that is said to enhance brightness and color bit depth.
