Sceptre Intros Pico Projector

City of Industry, Calif. – Video display resource

Sceptre

stepped away from marketing its
broad LCD TV and monitor assortment for a minute Monday to introduce the Luna
100W combination pocket video projector and MP3 player.

The palm-sized LCoS-based pico projector and multimedia device carries a $170 suggested retail and allows storing and sharing media files and listening to music.

The projector portion of the Luna is based on an LED light engine
and resolution is listed at 640 by 480. It will project up to a 50-inch image
size from up to a 99-inch throw distance.

The device measures less than 1 inch thick and weighs 2.6 ounces.

“The modern society places demands on immediacy, portability and
usability, and the Luna meets all those needs in one tiny package,” stated
Cathy Chou, operations VP of Sceptre.
“By combining the functionality of a projector and MP3 player, the Luna
allows the user to enjoy music and share content and information wherever and
whenever needed.”

It is compatible with a wide array of digital music and video
file formats, including AVI, MOV, MPEG, JPEG, BMP, MP3 and WMA.

It ships with a 2GB MicroSD card (expandable to 32GB) for
storage. It offers approximately five hours of battery life per charge.

The projector is available in white with silver trimming with
three interchangeable skin protectors in black, pink and blue.

Sceptre said the Luna 100W is available now through such
retailers and e-tailers as QVC, Amazon, Walmart, Newegg.com, Target, Sears and
Kmart.
