Sanyo Ships Dual-Lamp Projector

Chatsworth, Calif. – Sanyo is now shipping a 3LCD projector incorporating a dual-lamp system that will enable extending lamp life without replacement for continuous 24/7 business and institutional applications.

The PLC-XTC50L, which carries a $7,495 suggested retail, includes a Lamp Selection system that automatically selects one of two lamps to project from, and switches lamps based on user preference or preprogrammed settings.

Sanyo said management of the projection time for each lamp is dependent on the mode selected. An “Alternating Mode” allows a rotating pattern that alternates the two lamps’ use time, while the “Relay Mode” uses one lamp continuously then switches lamps when the first one is no longer usable.

The PLC-XTC50L also employs an advanced optical engine technology, which stabilizes high-quality of light output, and uses high-precision optical axis adjustment technology enables the mirror to automatically select the lamp using a control motor.

Sanyo said the PLC-XTC50L’s lamp selection system makes approximately 6,000 hours of projection possible without lamp replacement, which is twice as long as conventional one-lamp models.

Additionally, when it is time to replace a lamp, coin screws are used to facilitate their replacement without using any tools.

The projector offers 1,024 by 768 resolution, 5,000 ANSI lumens of brightness, and a 1,100:1 contrast ratio. Inputs include: DVI-D w/HDCP, D-Sub15pin, BNC 5-pin type (Y, Pb, Pr or RGB), composite (RCA) and S-Video Mini DIN 9-pin

Video output: D-Sub 15pin, BNC 3-type.

The projector measures 17.75 by 6.9 by 21.65 inches, and weights 32.4 pounds.
