SanDisk Ups microSD Capacity

Orlando, Fla. — SanDisk will ship a 4GB microSDHC card through Verizon Wireless stores this May, the companies announced at the CTIA show.

The 4GB card marks the highest capacity yet achieved for the diminutive microSD format. According to SanDisk, the new card can pack up to 2,000 songs or up to 16 hours of MPEG-4 video.

The new flash-memory card will fall in the Class 2 speed rating, with a minimum sustained transfer rate of 2MBps.

The card will retail for a suggested $129.
