Cologne, Germany — Seeking to satisfy high-resolution digital SLR owners, SanDisk added two high-capacity CompactFlash (CF) cards to its Extreme III lineup of professional memory cards.

It also announced a new distribution agreement with mobile phone distributor CellStar, which will push SanDisk’s cellular phone memory cards into more mobile channels.

SanDisk’s new CF cards will be available in 12GB and 16GB capacities and feature minimum read/write speeds of 20MB per second. The cards include a copy of RescuePRO image recovery software. They will ship by the end of the year for $779 and $1,049, respectively.

On the mobile phone front, SanDisk tapped Dallas-based CellStar to distribute SanDisk’s line of reduced sized memory cards and its Sansa MP3 music players to CellStar’s network of U.S. wireless operators, dealers, retailers and MVNOs.
