Samsung To Promote Galaxy Note In Super Bowl Ad

Dallas
– Samsung’s first-ever Super Bowl ad will be a 90-second commercial promoting
the Galaxy Note superphone, a tablet/smartphone hybrid.

The
commercial will air during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5.

The
Note features 5.3-inch screen and AT&T’s 4G LTE and HSPA+ technologies.
Preorders begin on the day of the Super Bowl for delivery by Feb. 17.  It goes on sale in AT&T and Best Buy
stores on Feb. 19.

Samsung
said it chose Bobby Farrelly to direct the commercial, which will be Farrelly’s
first commercial. Farrelly and his brother Peter created such comedy films as “There’s
Something About Mary,” “Dumb and Dumber,” “Kingpin” and “Fever Pitch.”

The
commercial will include footage shot by the Galaxy Note’s HD-quality video
camera.

Samsung,
which in previous years has been an NFL sponsor and a Super Bowl sponsor with
signage at various venues over the years for its TV line, will also advertise
in the inaugural live stream of the Super Bowl, which will be streamed over NBC.com.
