Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus On Way

Dallas – Samsung’s
new 7-inch tablet, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, will be available nationwide in a
16GB Wi-Fi version beginning Nov. 13 at $399.

Retailers offering
the tablet include Best Buy, Amazon, TigerDirect, Fry’s and others. Pre-orders
will begin Oct. 23 through select retailers.

The company hasn’t
disclosed whether a cellular-equipped version will be available in the U.S. The
tablet

was
unveiled in September

in Korea.

The tablet
features a built-in IR emitter and Peel’s Smart Remote TV application, said to
let users control the components of any home entertainment system regardless of
manufacturer. The app also displays a local channel guide streamed via Wi-Fi.

On top of that, the
Peel app displays personalized programming recommendations via a graphical
interface, eliminating the need to scroll through channel-listing grids. Peel
also connects users to Facebook and Twitter to let others know what they’re
watching.

The Tab 7.0 Plus
is the successor to the 7-inch Galaxy Tab, and it adds such step-up features as
tablet-optimized Android Honeycomb OS and 1.2GHz-dual-core processor. It’s also
thinner and lighter.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0
Plus joins the company’s Tab 8.9 and 10.1 models,

unveiled
in March

with 8.9-inch and 10.1-inch touchscreens, respectively, and
Honeycomb OS.
