Dallas — Samsung Telecommunications America, Paramount and carrier Alltel Wireless teamed up to offer the Mission Impossible trilogy on a memory card that’s available for free with the purchase of a Samsung Delve touch-screen phone.

It’s the first promotion of its type by a U.S. carrier, a Samsung spokesperson said.

For the promotion, the three full-length feature films are loaded on a 2GB MicroSD card, which is available with the Delve from Feb. 20 through April 16 at Alltel-owned stores and authorized dealers. Consumers send in a mail-in redemption card to receive the MicroSD card within four to six weeks.

Samsung is participating in the promotion “to add promotional value to its mobile products without creating a price impact on its carrier partners or consumers,” the company said.

Although Verizon Wireless bought Alltel in January, in the 105 markets where Verizon and Alltel competed, Alltel is running network operations until Verizon, under mandate by federal regulators, sells off the operations in those markets. Verizon has six months from closing to sell of the operations, which are in 22 states nationwide with 2.2 million customers.
