RIM Expands OS 7 Phone Distribution

New York - Research In Motion is expanding its distribution of
smartphones incorporating its new BlackBerry 7 OS, with AT&T and T-Mobile
announcing plans to expand their selection of OS 7 handsets.

T-MobileAT&T will add three new OS 7 models to bring its selection to four,
while T-Mobile will add a second model. All OS 7 phones feature 1.2GHz
processor, and many feature touchscreens.

Verizon already offers one OS 7 phone, and Sprint offers two.

AT&T will begin offering the 4G-equipped touchscreen-only BlackBerry
Torch 9860 on Nov. 6 at $199, the bar-style 4G BlackBerry Bold
9900 with
small touchscreen and hard QWERTY keyboard on Nov. 6 at $199, and the BlackBerry
Curve 9360 bar-style phone without touchscreen on Nov. 20 for
$29.99.
They'll join AT&T's previously released 4G BlackBerry Torch 9810, which is equipped
with a touchscreen and sliding QWERTY keyboard.

For its part,
T-Mobile plans Nov. 9 availability of
the 4G Torch 9810 at $249. T-Mobile presales to business customers began today.

The Bold 9900 bar-type phone combines a 2.8-inch touchscreen with hard QWERTY
keyboard. It's the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone ever at 10.5 mm.

The
BlackBerry Torch 9860 touchscreen-only phone features a 3.7-inch display and HD
video recording. And the Curve 9360 has a 2.44-inch non-touch display with a 5-megapixel camera. A
non-camera version will be available from AT&T as well.

The Torch
9810 features a 3.2-inch touchscreen
display, full QWERTY
slide-out keyboard, 5-megapixel
camera with LED flash and 720p HD video capture.

 BlackBerry
OS 7 specs
include a
Liquid Graphics touchscreen on touchscreen-equipped models to deliver fast
touch-based navigation, web browsing, pictures, video, and graphics-intensive
games with video up to 60 fps. Other BlackBerry 7 OS features include
voice-activated search to search for content on the phone and on the web,
BlackBerry Balance technology to manage personal content separately from
corporate content, and additional personal and productivity apps out of the
box.
