Pulse~LINK Joins HANA Board

Beaverton, Ore. – Pulse~LINK, a developer of semiconductor technologies for whole home system integration, has been named to the board of directors of the High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA), the organizations said Tuesday.

Pulse~LINK is also contributing to the organization as a full promoter member, the company said. It is said to be “a staunch supporter” of HANA and a founding member of HANA in 2005.

HANA is a cross-industry alliance of member companies dedicated to providing consumers with a system of networking HD content in whole-home systems, using IEEE-1394 connections.

“HANA is pleased to welcome Pulse~LINK to its board as it has been a valuable contributor to our technical and marketing work groups since the beginning,” stated Dr. Heemin Kwon, HANA President. “All of our members have been instrumental in designing the HANA solution that uses a single connection, an easy to use interface and a single remote to enable the sharing of HD content across A/V devices anywhere in the home. Additional support from Pulse~LINK will only improve the speed that HANA is able to turn its vision for a whole-home networking solution into reality. It’s only a matter of time before consumers will have a simple and secure way to access their HD content from any device in their home.”

“We are ready to take the next step to help steer HANA as its moves from developing guidelines to helping companies get HANA products on the shelf,” stated Bruce Watkins, Pulse~LINK President and COO. “Our CWave UWB 1394-Over-Coax technology supports the HANA home networking solution and we look forward to increased collaboration with our fellow members.”

Pulse~LINK’sCWave 1394-Over-Coax solution distributes HD content securely over a home’s existing coax cabling.
