Plantronics Bows Calisto Pro Series

Santa Cruz, Calif. — Plantronics today introduced the Calisto Pro Series, a home phone with a multifunction Bluetooth headset.

The Calisto Pro is engineered with a landline handset and Bluetooth headset together in a charging base. Users will be able to switch between landline, mobile phone and VoIP calls with the touch of a button, said Plantronics.

The handset is built on digitally encrypted, voice-dedicated DECT 6.0 technology and provides up to 300 feet of roaming range, a built-in speakerphone and flip-up waist clip. It combines a noise-canceling microphone and an extended boom that is designed to reduce background noise, and the headset can be connected to both the handset and a mobile phone to answer both landline and mobile calls.

A USB port for PC connection is also included with the Calisto Pro. Skype and Yahoo! Voice calls are transferred to the headset at the touch of a button, enabling users to remotely answer and end conversations from up to 300 feet away from the base station. The headset’s long boom is also designed to enhance VoIP call quality by significantly reducing the risk of echo.

Up to 200 Microsoft Outlook contacts can be transferred, with up to three numbers each, into the handset.

The Calisto Pro is scheduled to become available in September for a $279 suggested retail.
