Pioneer’s New Build Off

Long Beach, Calif. — Pioneer Electronics will announce new car navigation products and will host its third annual car A/V installation competition among its retailers at a “Road Show” here on June 13.

This year, the company broadened the focus of its “Sound Build-Off” contest to include installer craftsmanship as well as sound quality.

Also new this year, the contest will focus on everyday features such as iPod and Bluetooth connections rather than on “super high-end products” exclusively, said Pioneer.

Retailer participants were nominated by their Pioneer sales reps based on their installation prowess and industry commitment. Each was given eight weeks to build a vehicle with the same equipment.

The contest will be judged by IASCA judges, and the top three retailers will win cash prizes.

Participating retailers include Al & Ed’s Autosound, All Star Sound, Car Tunes Stereo Center, Competition Sounds, Jack’s Mobile Electronics, Kartunes, Newport Autosound, Paradyme, The Specialist and Sound Waves.
