Paradigm Readies Value Series CEDIA Expo

Mississauga, Ontario – Speaker
maker Paradigm will cross the border to the CEDIA Expo with a completely
redesigned value-oriented Cinema series said to step up performance by adopting
technology from the company’s Reference series.

The series of tabletop- and
wall-mount speakers also sports new curved and sculpted acoustic-suspension
cabinets with high-gloss finish.

They replace a Cinema series that
marketing director Mark Aling contended was already “priced competitively with
big box store compact theater systems” while also offering consumers “a
substantial improvement in audio performance.” The replacement series delivers
lower frequency extension, reduced distortion, sustained sensitivity and
improved dispersion, he said.

The seven-SKU series consists of a
$349 subwoofer, a $999 5.1 speaker package, and two- and 2.5-way speakers with
estimated suggested retails ranging up to $549 each.

The $299 two-speaker Cinema 100 2.0
tabletop/wallmount speaker package features 1-inch tweeter and 4-inch bass/mid
driver. The $449 three-speaker Cinema 100 3.0 speaker package consists of three
Cinema 100 speakers. The two-way on-wall $249-each Cinema 200 is flatter than
the others for on-wall applications and features 1-inch tweeter and two 4-inch
bass/mid drivers. The $399-each on-wall five-driver, 2.5-way Cinema 400

features 1-inch tweeter, one 4-inch
bass/mid driver, and one 4-inch bass driver.

The $549-each Cinema Trio is a
three-in-one speaker that delivers three front two-way channels via three
1-inch tweeters and four 4-inch bass/mid drivers. The $349 Cinema Sub features
8-inch woofer, 100-watt RMS amplification, and 300 watts of peak power.

The 5.1 package is the $999
Cinema 100CT, which consists of five Cinema 100 speakers and the sub.

All speakers feature
Reference-quality crossovers, satin-anodized pure-aluminum dome tweeters and
wire-mesh tweeter guards with WaveGuide technology from the Reference Signature
series. The tweeter technologies deliver wide and spacious dispersion while
protecting the tweeter domes, the company said. Mineral content has been added
to the polypropylene bass/midrange cones to stiffen the cones.

All come with EasyMount
wall-mount system, and the Cinema 100 also comes with tabletop-stand option.
All but the Cinema 100 also feature removable self-aligning magnetic grilles.
