Paradigm Expands Shift Series To Reach New Base

INDIANAPOLIS — Paradigm is expanding its Paradigm Shift series with its first soundbar, first AirPlay speaker, and a new multimedia speaker.

Outside of the Shift series, the company is also releasing two limited-edition speakers to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The Shift series was launched in 2011 to expand Paradigm’s demographic beyond traditional purchasers of in-room and custom-installed speakers. The first products were powered desktop speakers, surround-sound headphones, and earbuds.

The newest Shift products include the soundbar, which is a 2.1-channel model called the Soundtrack System. It’s expected to ship in the fall at an estimated $799. The Soundtrack features digital optical and analog stereo inputs to connect to the audio outputs of Blu-ray players, game consoles, and set top boxes. It also features a wireless subwoofer with wired option. IR learning capability enables control from a TV’s remote.

The company’s first AirPlay speaker is the curvy Aera, expected to ship in the fall at an estimated $599. It features Wi-Fi, 30-pin iPod/iPhone dock on top, USB 2.0 port to play and charge Apple mobile devices including the iPad, and a 3.5mm aux-in. It can be controlled from on-speaker controls or a full-function remote.

The new multimedia speaker in the Shift series is the Millenia CT 2.1, currently available at $699. It can be paired with a computer, TV or networked-audio device such as Apple Airport Express. It comes with a 3.5mm analog audio input and optical digital input.

The company is aslo launching its 30th anniversary Inspiration bookshelf speaker and the floorstanding Tribute. They are expected to be available in a hand-crafted black cherry finish later this year. Inspiration pricing wasn’t set, but the Tribute is expected to retail for $2,999 each.
