Pandigital Intros Three Tablets

Dublin, Calif. –
Pandigital today released three Android-based tablet PCs.

The Pandigital Star,
Planet and Nova run on Android 2.2, for the first two devices and Android 2.3
for the last item. The company said the tablets are upgradeable to new Android
operating systems versions.

The Star will retail for
$159, while the Planet and Nova will carry a $189 suggested price.

The Planet is now
available with the Nova shipping next week and the Star coming online in
mid-August.

A fourth unit, which will
be the line’s flagship, will be released in September, the company said.

All three Wi-Fi tablets
have a 7-inch display and are powered by ARM Cortex 9 processors with embedded
hardware 3D graphics. The Planet and Nova displays are 600 by 800, while the
Star features 800 by 480 resolution. Integrated memory is 2GB for the Planet
and Star and 4GB for the Nova and there is a MicroSD slot capable of taking a
32GB card. There is a mini USB mort and an HDMI switch (cable not included).

The tablets weigh about
14 ounces and are 5-inches wide, 7.5-inches high and one-half inch thick. The
company is reporting six hours of battery life.
