Panasonic Offers Green Donation Promo

Secaucus, N.J. — Panasonic is targeting environmentally conscious consumers in a new e-business initiative, called Panasonic Direct Giving Back, that will enable customers who purchase products from Panasonic’s Web site during the holiday season to direct 5 percent of the purchase price to one of three environmental organizations that they will select.

Panasonic said the initiative covers all products offered for sale on the Web site and will be operated at no additional cost to the consumer. The donation is made wholly by Panasonic.

“Panasonic, along with our parent company, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., has always focused on being a responsible corporate citizen by trying to better the world around us,” stated Jeremy Dalnes, Panasonic e-business group VP. “Giving Back is just one of the ways we’re continuing to support this core value. It’s a great way for consumers to make a purchase they feel good about, as they’re able to contribute to one of three environmentally friendly organizations with no cost to them. We believe this program is a win for consumers, the environment, and Panasonic.”

Panasonic will make the donation as directed by the purchaser based on 5 percent of the purchase price, less tax and shipping. The three environmental causes selected to benefit, based on customer preference, include: The Nature Conservancy’s Rescue the Reef, National Recycling Coalition’s America Recycles Day and World Resources Institute’s Green Power Market Development Group.
