Office Depot Names Rubin President Of N.A. Retail

Delray Beach, Fla. — Office Depot has named Chuck Rubin North American retail president, a new position.

In his new role, Rubin will be responsible for leading Office Depot’s retail business in North America, including store operations, merchandising, marketing, real estate and construction. Rubin was formerly Office Depot’ executive VP, chief merchandising officer and chief marketing officer.

Since joining Office Depot in 2004, Rubin has successfully implemented several new marketing and merchandising concepts, the chain said, including the launch of the company’s M2 retail format, and created a new national sponsorship platform featuring NASCAR and Roush Racing star Carl Edwards. He also “significantly expanded” the selection of private brand products and exclusive offerings, Office Depot said.

In addition Office Depot announced that Rick Lepley, executive VP of North American retail since March 2004, is retiring and will be leaving the company on May 1.
