O’Neal Named Micro Innnovations CEO

Edison, N.J. — Computer accessories distributor Micro Innovations has named former Philips and Gemini executive Michael O’Neal (left) president/CEO, effective June 23.

O’Neal most recently was president/ CEO of Alco Consumer Products, a distributor of housewares and home décor products based in Cranbury, N.J.

O’Neal takes over the position from Jessie Grindeland who has left the company.

Prior to his stint at Alco, O’Neal was president/CEO of Team Products International, a supplier of branded automotive products, sporting goods, power tools and hardware products based in Pine Brook, N.J.

Over the course of a 30-year career, O’Neal also held president and CEO positions at CE accessories suppliers Philips Accessories North America and Gemini Industries.

Commenting on the appointment on behalf of Micro Innovations’ board of directors, Pasternak said, “Mike has an extensive background not only in electronics and computer accessories, but also in licensing. His successful brand portfolio includes Philips, Zenith, SpongeBob, ASPCA and Southwestern Bell. That, along with broad retail relationships, will make Mike a key in leading our company to the next level.”

O’Neal added: “One of my strengths is developing licensing partners. Micro Innovations’ reputation as a quality leader in the value line will give us a strong platform to pair new licensees with innovative products in response to the marketplace.” 

O’Neal is currently a member of the Board of Industry Leaders of the Consumer Electronics Association.

Founded in 1992 by Pasternak and Eddie Mizrahi, Micro Innovations is a privately held company based here that imports and distributes computer accessories under the Micro Innovations brand in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Micro Innovations also distributes, among other brands, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq and IBM accessories.
