Melville, N.Y. –
introduced
Tuesday a lightweight Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G AF-S DX lens to its SLR lens family.
The lightweight lens, which is best suited for use with Nikon’s
DX series d-SLR cameras that use APS-C cropped image sensors, is billed as
being versatile and offering macro (extreme close-up) shooting capabilities. It
carries a $280 suggested retail price and is said to be “perfect for capturing
in-depth details or general portraiture with a minimum focusing distance of
just 0.53 feet (6.4 inches).”
It is also well suited to HD video shooting, offering a life-size
1:1 reproduction ratio.
