11/10/2010 02:53:34 PM Eastern

New York - The National Hockey League (NHL) said Wednesday that
its online NHL GameCenter Live
content-streaming service is now available via Internet-connected devices from
Roku, Boxee and Sony's PlayStation3.

"With today's announcement, we are able to deliver NHL GameCenter
Live and NHL Vault to an extensive consumer base and significantly broaden the
availability of our products to our fans across the world," said  Perry Cooper, NHL digital media senior
VP.

Sony PlayStation3 owners
will be able to access NHL GameCenter Live through the PlayStationNetwork to
stream live out-of-market regular season and select playoff game broadcasts in
high definition by downloading the NHL application on their PS3 systems.

NHL GameCenter Live also allows subscribers to watch full-length
and condensed replays of the games they missed (48 hours after they air, no
blackouts) with unlimited access to more than 500 classic games from NHL
Vault.  Also available will be stats,
player profiles, standings and team schedules.

Fans who have an annual subscription to NHL GameCenter Live
($169) and a free PlayStation Network account can download the NHL application
for $9.99 and access it under the video category icon on the XrossMediaBar (XMB)
menu.

PlayStationPlus subscribers can download the NHL application for
free.

Owners of Roku and Boxee set-top boxes are also able to receive NHL
GameCenter Live for no additional cost to existing subscribers who own a Roku,
use Boxee software or plan to add the upcoming Boxee Box by D-Link.

NHL GameCenter Live will launch for the iPad in the coming weeks,
the league said.

Roku's boxes, which are
available at suggested retails starting at a $60, now offer NHL GameCenter Live
features including:

  • full access to NHL
    GameCenter Live in high definition, including the ability to select home or
    away feeds;

  • access to game
    archives from the current season (available 48 hours after original broadcast);
    and

  • NHL Vault, with more
    than 500 classic games dating back to the 1960s.

Boxee Internet TV software is
now available as a free download for PC/Mac and the forthcoming Boxee Box by
D-Link ($199). It offers:

  • streaming of NHL
    GameCenter Live and NHL Vault in HD;

  • access to post-game
    highlights for all 2010-11 games;

  • ability to watch
    any game from the 2007-08 season through today;

  • the latest headlines
    and stories news from NHL.com;

  • standings,
    including wins, losses, ties, points, goals and more; and

  • the ability to hide
    scores of games to ensure the final result stays a surprise until every last minute
    of the game is watched.
