New iPaq hits $199

Palo Alto, Calif. – Hewlett Packard announced on Aug. 26 its lowest priced handheld to date called the iPaq h1935.

The new iPaq carries a street price of $199 after rebate and uses a Samsung 203Mhz processor with 64MB of Synchronous SDRAM and comes with an SD slot. It is similar to the h1940 (at $299) minus Bluetooth and with a slower processor. It features the same transflective 240×320 TFT screen and runs Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Professional Edition.

Other features of the iPaq h1935 include 16MB of flash ROM and removable 900 mAh Lithium-ion battery. The h1935 is shipping at a street price of $249 with a $50 mail-in rebate available through Jan. 31, 2004.
