Navman Ships $379 Portable GPS

Lake Forest, Ill., – Navman has begun shipping a new portable GPS at a suggested retail price of $379, one of the lower opening price points to date for the category.

The Navman F20 offers preloaded U.S. maps, 3.5-inch color touch screen and dedicated buttons for locating the nearest gas station and parking facility. Addresses can be entered by street address, intersection or ZIP code. The unit includes a lithium-ion battery for up to 3.5 hours of use and it ships with a vehicle mounting kit.

Several new GPS products have been introduced recently in the $399 to $599 range, from leading brands and new market entrants. In addition to Navman, Delphi also broke the $399 price barrier recently with its NAV200 to ship at $349.

Navman also recently announced it will ship two NavPix photo-location based portable GPS units with built-in digital cameras, the N40i and N60i. at $499 and $599.
