Nationwide Sets Succession Plan

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Nationwide Marketing Group enacted a series of senior-level promotions effective Jan. 1 that sets the stage for a leadership transition.

Under the succession plan, executive VP Dave Bilas has succeeded Les Kirk as COO and has assumed CEO Robert Weisner’s additional title of president.

Succeeding Bilas as executive VP is Jeff Knock, formerly senior appliances VP.

In turn, Kirk and Weisner will share the leadership of the $14 billion buying group as co-CEOs, overseeing Nationwide’s operations and finances.

Bilas joined Nationwide three years ago from GE Appliances, and Knock came aboard soon after from Electrolux. Knock’s appliance successor is expected to be announced early this month.

In a statement, Weisner said the group has developed “a team of innovators that understand the changing dynamics and demands in our industry.”

Nationwide’s dealers operate more than 10,000 showrooms and generate a combined $14 billion in annual sales.
