NARDA Joins Forces With ETA, USA For Retail ‘Supershow’

Lombard, Ill. – The North American Retail Dealers Association (NARDA), the United Servicers Association (USA), and the Electronics Technicians Association International (ETA) will combine their 2006 convention and educational institutes into a larger single event, The Service and Retail Convention (SRC), to be held Feb. 13-16, 2006, at Harrah’s in Las Vegas.

The SRC will offer a broad selection of technical and business management training sessions, along with a large trade show of products and services.

“By combining forces, the three participating organizations can offer their members a broader selection of educational seminars,” said Tom Drake, NARDA president/CEO. “By combining our efforts and pooling our resources, we can improve the quality and the variety of training we provide to our respective members. Whether you’re an appliance or electronics retailer, technician or service manager, this joint event is for you.”

Drake added that the industry-wide gathering also offers a major advantage for exhibitors by “bringing together a much larger group all at one time and in one location.”

The participating organizations also gain an economy of scale that enables them to negotiate better deals on hotel and travel rates than they could secure on their own, the groups noted.

Each association will conduct individual business meetings such as committee and board gatherings concurrent with the event. In addition, the SRC will include a golf tournament that will be open to all attendees on a first-come, first serve basis.

The official Web site of the 2006 Service and Retail Convention is www.SRC06.org. In addition, event information will be posted on the participating associations’ Web sites.
