MyerEmco’s Yacoubian Named Vice-Chair

Arlington, Va. — Gary Yacoubian, president and COO of MyerEmco Audio/Video, has been named vice-chair of the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) executive board.

The appointment represents the first time in CEA history that a retailer will hold a top leadership position within the trade group.

The executive board determines CEA policies, manages the association’s affairs and defines the qualifications, procedures and dues for membership. Pat Lavelle, president/CEO of Audiovox, will continue to serve as chairman of the executive board.

“I’m delighted to have Gary Yacoubian as vice-chair,” Lavelle said in a statement. “An industry veteran and active CEA volunteer, Gary has shown extraordinary leadership over the past several years and I look forward to his contributions in this new role.”

Yacoubian has served on the CEA board since 2006 and has also served as chairman of its PARA division, representing more than 200 specialty A/V retailers. He also serves as chair of CEA’s division executive board, the governing body of all divisions within the organization.

MyerEmco is a 10-store specialty A/V chain serving the Washington D.C. market and is member of the PRO Group buying organization.
