More Gateway Desktops Slated

Irvine, Calif. — Gateway continued its holiday product rollout with the introduction of three Gateway-branded desktops scheduled to ship this month.

The models fall under the DX420 line and range in price from $599 to $999 and they will be available directly from Gateway in fixed and configure-to-order configurations.

The three fixed configurations start with the DX420B, at $599, which is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 processor with a P965 Viiv chipset, 513MB of DDR2 memory, 160GB hard drive, dual format/double layer DVD burner and an NVIDIA 7300LE graphics card.

The step-up DX420s adds a 250GB hard drive and a 17-inch flat-panel monitor for $799.

The line’s flagship DX420X, $999, doubles the memory to 1GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM and adds a second 250GB hard drive. A 19W-inch LCD is included.

All three use Microsoft’s Media Center 2005 Edition software.

Last week Gateway rolled out three eMachines-branded desktops and LCD monitors. (Please see eMachines Gets Ready For The Holidays)
