Kansas City, Mo.- Midland Consumer Radio has acquired the U.S. land mobile radio operations of Securicor Wireless Inc., which already markets land mobile radios under the Midland brand name.
The land mobile radio operations of Securicor were owned by Midland International until the late 90’s when Midland Consumer Products split off and Securicor bought the land mobile radio operations from Midland International. Now Midland Consumer Products has purchased the land mobile radio operations for an undisclosed sum.
Midland will absorb several Securicor employees to run the land mobile radio unit, many of whom worked for Midland International, previously. Securicor is also located here in Kansas City.
In addition, Midland is changing its name to reflect the wider product assortment Midland Radio Corp.
