Microsoft, Olympus Agree To Share Patents

Redmond, Wash. — Microsoft and Olympus have entered into a patent cross-licensing agreement, the companies said today.

The deal expands an existing intellectual property-sharing relationship between the two firms. While specific technologies were not referenced, the companies said the patents would be incorporated into “numerous consumer electronics products, particularly products that involve digital imaging technologies.”

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
