Media Storage Vet Ed Dougherty Dies

Baltimore — Long-time accessories industry veteran Ed Dougherty died on Feb. 11 from pneumonia and other lung complications.

Dougherty’s age remains a closely guarded secret.

Known throughout the industry as “an absolute character and legendary storyteller,” according to long-time colleague Jack Graham of Mizco, Dougherty was most recently a partner and executive VP of Laserline. He formerly held positions with Case Logic and Earhugger. Dougherty also held management positions at Capitol Records.

“When I write my book,” added Graham, “Ed gets one full chapter.”

He is survived by his son Thomas and daughter-in-law Map.

Family will receive friends on Feb. 14, from 3 p.m to 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home in Catonsville, Md. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Church of the Resurrection, Ellicott City, Md.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, Executive Plaza 1, Suite 600, 11350 McCormick Rd., Hunt Valley, Md., 21031.
