McGall Takes Vidikron Post

Jim McGall, a 25-year consumer electronics industry veteran, has been hired as new sales and marketing VP for high-performance video display manufacturer Vidikron, the company’s parent Runco International announced.

McGall comes to Vidikron from Singapore-based Nippecraft Ltd., where he helped launch a digital writing solutions division. Earlier, he had led the sales and marketing efforts for two high-tech A/V startup companies — EIGER Systems and Frox Inc. The later became the nucleus for Intel’s SmarTV project in the late 1990s.

McGall also formerly worked for A/V retailers including Harvey’s Warehouse, as well as CE manufacturers Matsushita/Panasonic, Harman International and InterAct’s STD Manufacturing Ltd.

McGall will executive Vidikron’s company’s strategic marketing plan, develop promotions for its product line, and direct expansion with its existing and new channel partners.

“The Vidikron team is excited to have Jim on board,” said Bob Hana, Vidikron’s president. “His leadership skills and expertise in driving sales for progressive technology companies are a perfect fit for Vidikron’s goals. I’m confident that, through Jim’s direction, we’ll be able to considerably increase our global brand presence, both by expanding market share and enhancing relationships with our current customers.”

McGall succeeds Ben Jamison, who left Runco earlier in the year to pursue other opportunities.
