Maxell Partners With Wearable For AirStash

Chicago – Maxell
announced it has partnered with Wearable to distribute the AirStash, a
pocket-sized wireless flash drive with media streaming and two-way wireless
document-transfer capability.

This is Wearable’s
second generation of the AirStash, which is designed for use with any
Wi-Fi-enabled device. It features USB connectivity and, according to Maxell,
allows users to wirelessly save, backup and share documents. The drive’s
capacity can be expanded using SD cards.

The first generation of
the device retails for $99 on Wearable’s website. The Maxell version of the
device is $149, but it is smaller and lighter and comes with an 8GB SD card.
Both have built-in lithium-ion batteries that charge during use.

The AirStash supports
the WebDAV industry standard for compatibility with such apps as Apple’s iWork
suite, Pages, Keynote and Numbers; GoodReader for iOS; and WebDAV Navigator for
Android.

An AirStash+ app, free
at Apple’s App Store, lets photographers batch and import photos quickly and
easily, Maxell said. “Users can immediately browse photos up to 35 megapixels
directly from their camera’s SD card without waiting to import them. Photos can
also be imported either at full resolution or resized to a space-saving
resolution that matches the device display.”
