Massive Plans Second Wave Of OEM Replacement Speakers

Los Angeles, Calif. – Massive
Audio plans a second wave of six more OEM-replacement car audio speakers in the
early summer to follow the recent shipment of six models.

The speakers, all in the DX
series, are sensitive enough to be powered by the built-in amplifiers of
factory head units, the company said.

Massive recently shipped the
coaxial DX 4, DX 5, DX6, DX46 and DX 57 and a three- way 6×9. They’ll be
followed in early summer by the DX2, DX3, DX65 and shallow-mount DX6S, DX69S
and DK6 component speaker.

Prices weren’t available.

DX speakers feature heavy-gauge
steel baskets, two-piece paintable grilles on all but two models, high-flux ferrite
magnets, high-temperature 1-inch voice coils, laminated paper cones with pressed-foam
surround, polyester-fiber cloth spiders and a 13mm hard dome tweeters. Peak
power outputs range from 150 watts to 250 watts.
