Linear To Merge Panamax/Furman, LiteTouch

Petaluma, Calif.
– The Home Technology Group of Linear plans to combine its Panamax/Furman and
LiteTouch subsidiaries into a single operation led by Panamax/Furman President
Bill Pollock.

The consolidation follows

last
year’s consolidation

of Linear’s Niles Audio, Xantech and Elan Home Systems
subsidiaries into a single entity called the

AVC
Group

.

Linear cited both companies’
increasing focus on energy-efficiency and energy-management solutions for the
consolidation. Panamax/Furman, for example, offers products that make it
possible for dealers and installers to remotely control and monitor A/V system
power through a hosted IP web portal, Linear said. For its part,
lighting-control supplier LiteTouch has begun offering DayLight Harvesting
keypads and plans a low-voltage relay and data port option on keypads to
connect motion and occupancy sensors.

The Panamax brand offers power
management, monitoring and control solutions for custom integrators, and the
Furman brand provides power management solutions for musicians, audio
professionals and commercial A/V integrators. It also offers power conditioners
for high-end A/V systems.

LiteTouch has been in the custom
residential lighting-control market for 30 years.
