LG Gets U.S. Open Action

San Diego — More than 600 LG-branded flat-panel HDTVs and monitors were supplied by the manufacturer to the recent U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, enabling fans, VIPs and pros the opportunity to see all of the critical action of the tournament over Father’s Day weekend.

G said it supplied both LCD and plasma HDTVs for placement at strategic points throughout the course, club and hotels.

In addition, LG’s digital signage products were placed at pavilions and media tents for up-to-the minute stats and related content.

LCD TVs ranged in size from 26 inches to 47 inches. Plasma sets included LG’s new 50-inch 50PG20C, featuring LG’s Public Display Settings for streamlined setup. It offers a 20,000:1 contrast ratio for strong picture performance in a variety of settings.

LG’s digital appliance division also used a hospitality tent at the tournament to showcase its SteamWasher and four-door refrigerator.
