Research Triangle, N.C. – Lenovo introduced two new multimedia laptops
and a desktop today.
The IdeaPad Y460p and Y560p are labeled high-performance
notebooks by Lenovo. The former features a 14-inch display, while the latter
sports a 15.6-inch screen.
Both have a $849 starting price and will ship on Jan. 11.
Each will be powered by a second-generation Intel Core processor,
up to the Core i7 level, when they become available.
Other features include hard-drive capacity up to 750GB and a
maximum of 8GB of DDR3 memory. Also included is 32GB of solid-state memory to
help speed up the laptop’s performance.
The laptops also meet Lenovo’s Windows 7 Enhanced Experience certification
that the company said provides 33 percent faster boot-up time and a shutdown
time that is 50 percent quicker.
The models will be available with a choice of two interiors, metallic
gray and white.
The IdeaCentre K330 desktop, $699 starting price and shipping
early in 2011, will run on a series of Intel Core processors, up to the i7 with
Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0.
It has 16GB of DDR3 memory and twin RAID-configured hard drives
with up to 4TB of storage capacity.
The unit is equipped with three user-controlled power levels.
These are: Turbo Red for high speed use, Auto Blue for regular operation and
the Cool Green silent energy-saving mode. This is handled by adjusting fan and
CPU speed.
The K330’s optical drive can be filled with either a Blu-ray or
DVD drive; there is a TV tuner option and HD graphics support.
