Law Leaves Kenwood, Joins Sirius

9/26/2003 12:09:00 PM Eastern

New York - Kenwood VP sales and marketing Bob Law will leave his post to assume a new position at Sirius as of October 6, said the industry veteran.

Law will become Senior VP of retail operations, responsible for Sirius retail sales and marketing. He will also work with product development 'to get the types of product retail really needs,' said Law. No replacement for Law at Kenwood has been named.

One challenge facing Sirius is competitor XM’s low prices, achieved in part, by partnering with non-traditional autosound suppliers such as Delphi and Terk. Law says Sirius will remain committed to branded suppliers. 'Time will tell what the value of a brand is within the category. From Kenwood’s standpoint, it’s been a successful partnership [with Sirius] and both Audiovox and Panasonic have been successful."
